happy fourth

we are so happy to finally see a smile on our sweet macie's face this fourth of july.  she has been battling mono, a stomach bug, and pneumonia for the past 17 days.  she had a few good days in the middle and we thought she was getting better only to relapse for the last week.  she even spent the better part of yesterday in the emergency room.  we prayed all night for her and are so relieved to see that she is doing better today and was even sporting her contagious smile at our fourth of july dinner tonight.  prayers for all the moms and dads out there with sick kids... nothing is more stressful or heartbreaking than seeing your child suffer.

our sweet girl graduated from kindergarten today.  she has had a fabulous year and we couldn't be more proud of her.  she received the "magnificent mathematician" award at the ceremony this morning... aunt chichi and i were beaming!  this evening we had a family dinner party to celebrate her year of hard work and all of her dreams that we pray she continues to dream!

whoopie

so glad that testing "season" at school is over!  spent last night making some treats for all of the folks that helped make everything run so smoothly the past two weeks.  i work with a great group of educators!  links to the whoopie pie recipes:  chocolate peanut butter,  red velvet and funfetti.

dance recital

today was dance recital day.  we have to fight macie most nights to go to dance class... she says she likes to do her "own" dances and doesn't like being told how to dance!  but she sure is excited come dance recital time!  she listens so well to her teachers and has made some sweet friends in her class.

so excited that my sweet friend, kim, is having a little girl next week... and so glad that we got to have this shower just in time!  i absolutely loooove baby girl stuff... i mean check out those baby leopard mary janes in the last pic... adorable!
