macie's room

here is how macie's room is shaping up. there are still several things i still need to do to the nursery...like wall art, get a lamp and fill up the bookshelf. my vision was to use lots of colors so that anything and everything would match. the bedding is from pottery barn kids and has just about every color in it...pink, blue, yellow, green, orange, brown...

happy halloween!

how cute are thing 1 and thing 2 from the cat in the hat!?!...better know as our nephews, peyton and parker. we didn't actually get to see them on halloween, but we heard that everytime they looked at each other in their costumes they started cracking up laughing!

6 months

there is definitely a baby in there. she kicks and moves all the time. we had our 6 month appointment last week and everything looks good. we're enrolled in several different baby classes in the next couple of months. my appointments have also changed to every two weeks now instead of monthly. we also decided on a name. we changed the spelling of her first name and made a decision on the middle name. she will be macie mae moody! small note- there are still 3 months left to change our mind again! :-)

blake's 30th

blake turned the big 3-0 on oct. 30th. he was a little depressed to leave his twenties behind. his secretaries decorated the office and brought food to snack on all day. there were also a couple of elementary teachers that came up and sang happy birthday to him.

4 wonderful years

oct. 16 was our 4 year anniversary. we were lucky to both have the day off of school. we spent the day sleeping in (my favorite part), shopping for baby stuff, going to a see a movie, and having dinner at a nice place in bricktown. i know lots of girls say this, but i really believe that i have the best husband in the world!

5 months

at our appointment this last week everything looked good. her heartbeat was 153 and my blood pressure was 100/60. the doctor was also happy that i only gained 2 pounds this month. at the last appointment i got scolded for gaining 6 pounds in one month. i'm feeling really good. my eating habits are back to normal and i'm still jogging 2 miles 3-4 times a week. we also are able to feel her kick now. blake and i can't help but laugh everytime we feel her kick...she is a very active little thing!

homecoming

every night this week i have spent with a few faithful juniors working on our class float for the homecoming parade. the theme of our float was grease. i thought that the float was really cute, but for some reason the judges didn't think it was great. we didn't even place...i'm upset because this is the first time in 7 years that my junior float hasn't placed in the parade! oh well...the kids had fun making it and walking in the parade.

painting

we have been working on painting the nursery for 3 weeks now. we have been busy...so it has been a slow process. they are delivery furniture today, though, so we finally made some time to finish the painting. i'm excited about getting the furniture in and putting the room together.

maesie

we are pretty set on the name maesie for our little girl. blake and i both have grandmothers with the middle name mae. we aren't sure about a middle name yet, though. i welcome any suggestions. today we went and picked out most of the nursery furniture, bedding and decorations. once it's all put together i'll be sure and post pictures.

it's a girl!

we had our appointment yesterday and everything looks good. they were able to tell that it is a little girl...i even had the ultrasound tech. check the gender twice to be positive! we are very excited about having a baby girl! it seems so much more real now that we can start planning and can start calling her "she" instead of "it."

4 months pregnant

i'm finally beginning to get a belly on me. i've had to start wearing maternity shirts because most of my regular shirts are getting too short! my regular pants are still working, but i have to rig the top button with a rubber band to give a little more room. i feel great, though. i'm having a good year at school and have lots of energy. we have a doctors appointment and ultrasound this wednesday and will hopefully find out if it's a girl or boy.

uncle blake

parker and peyton are almost 8 months old! it's hard to believe how fast they grow. they older they get, though, the more fun they are!

groupies

blake's mom and i spent the weekend following blake's band. friday night we went to toby keith's bar and grill in okc and then saturday we went to the elm street pub in tulsa. don't worry, though, toby keith's is smoke free and the gig in tulsa was outside... the baby's not getting any second hand smoke!

1st day of school

wednesday was our first day back to school with the kids. it was also blake's first day as assistant principal and transportation director with students there. none of the little kids were permanently lost...but several got on wrong busses and were "missing" for awhile. it was a very hectic day for blake...at one point i walked into his office and he had his office phone on one ear, his cell phone on the other, and the two-way radio in front of him. i never realized how much organization goes into bussing k-12 kids to and from school!

3 months pregnant

game night

a year ago we began game nights with blake's family the first wednesday of every month. we have taken several months off, but started again this month with the party at our house. because of peyton and parker we really don't get around to playing games...we just eat and play with babies all evening.

4th of july

over the 4th, i went with my mom, cherith and aunt debbie to clovis. i felt sick the whole weekend, but was strangely hungry the entire time. i felt like the weekend was focussed around keeping me fed with foods that sounded good. granny made some great food including her stew and chop suey. most of the weekend was spent playing games and of course eating! it was great to see granny and her new house. hopefully blake can go next time.
