this year we added a train to the gingerbread "village." the train was blake's vision... i take no responsibility for it! it was rather sad looking when blake was done with it, so i did go back and do a little piping to try to help the poor thing. macie completely designed her house as well. she wanted a pink and purple house complete with anna and elsa. chichi also came over and made the red, green and white candy cane porch house. i think i am going to have to go make some gingerbread cookies now... the smell of these houses is making me hungry and we have a rule that we can't touch the houses until after christmas!

thankful
every year we go around the table at thanksgiving and tell what we are thankful for. it usually stresses me out because i am so thankful for so much, but it somehow seems trivial when the words come out of my mouth. as i was downloading pictures off my camera tonight, i came across this one from a few weeks ago. not that my mace is any more special to me than brax, but she is the one who made me a mama... and she is the one that has been glued to my hip ever since. i am beyond blessed to call her my sweet daughter.

bye bye summer
well, it's that time of year again. i went back to work yesterday and the kids will start daycare on monday... and then mace will be in kindergarten in a couple of weeks! i am ashamed to say that i only had my camera out a couple of times all summer. i think once we got back from disney world in may i was pictured out. i had great intentions of blogging all about our disney trip, but as you can see that never happened! it was a pretty lazy summer around here... but a wonderful one spending lots of time with the kiddos... who, by the way, are growing up way too fast! here's to a great new school year~

dance recital
macie had her first dance recital this weekend. we are so proud of her... she followed directions of her teachers so well and she was very helpful and kind to her friends in the class. we didn't quite know what to expect, but i actually think she learned a few things this year!
