apple cheesecake


here is the recipe for the apple cheesecake that i made for thanksgiving...this is blake's favorite dessert!

crust:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 cup melted butter

filling:
2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs

topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
4 cups thinly sliced peeled apples
1/4 cup chopped pecans

mix crumbs, pecans, sugar, cinnamon and butter; press into bottom of 9 inch springform pan.  bake at 325 for 10 minutes.  mix cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with mixer on medium speed until well blended.  add eggs, mixing on low speed just until blended.  pour over crust.  mix sugar and cinnamon; toss with apples.  arrange apple mixture over the cream cheese layer; sprinkle with pecans.  bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

  1. all of the desserts were scrumptious, ash...in fact garnett said the desserts were his favorite part of the whole meal. i would like the german chocolate whoopie pie recipe. thank you for all your work to make our thanksgiving dinner delicious. and thank you for getting the bulldog shaker and decanter for caleb...he picked those out himself.
